Goals of Training Day
- Increase understanding of clinical challenges in the eating disorders.
- Learn about applications of the “Stages of Change” Model to the management of eating disorder patients.
- Become familiar with current research on readiness and motivation for change.
- Obtain practical experience in Motivational Interviewing.
- Identify four therapist styles and reflect on helpful and hindering aspects of one’s own style.
- Understand differences between a “readiness based” and “traditional” model of care.
- Learning and applying a philosophy of care that includes treatment non-negotiables.
"Enhancing Readiness and Motivation for change in the Eating Disorders" Training Day endorsed by the Australian Psychological Society for 12 Professional Development points
- Specialist points approved for member of the Clinical, Health & Counselling colleges.
- Members of other APS Colleges and non-College members may claim the equivalent generalist points.
- Upon submission of post-workshop evaluation activities, APS members will receive a certifcate of completion.
- Note that APS does not accept or process Attendance Lists as responsibility for tracking and logging PD points rests with individual members.
