Dr. Josie Geller is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia, Director of Research of the Eating Disorders Program at St. Paul's Hospital, and the recipient of a Senior Scholar Award from the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research. Her clinical and research interests focus on understanding readiness and motivation for change in the assessment and treatment of individuals with eating disorders, obesity, substance use, and HIV. She is currently supported by grants from the Canadian Institute for Health Research and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. She has published extensively and is an internationally renowned speaker.

Dianne Neumark-Sztainer, Ph.D., M.P.H., R.D., is a Professor in the Division of Epidemiology and Community Health, School of Public Health and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, both at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Neumark-Sztainer’s research interests focus mainly on adolescent nutrition and the prevention of weight-related disorders including eating disorders, unhealthy weight control behaviours, and obesity.  Her work aims to help young people feel good about themselves and their bodies, and adopt healthy eating and physical activity behaviours as self-nurturing behaviours. She is interested in exploring the potential for integrating eating disorder and obesity prevention through intervention, epidemiological, and qualitative studies.

Daniel Le Grange, Ph.D., is Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience in the Department of Psychiatry, Section for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and Director of the Eating Disorders Program at The University of Chicago. He received his doctoral education at the Institute of Psychiatry, University of London, and trained in family-based treatment for adolescent anorexia nervosa at the Maudsley Hospital in London (1986-1991). At the Maudsley Hospital he was a member of the team who developed the “Maudsley Approach” as a treatment for early onset anorexia nervosa. Dr. Le Grange is the author or co-author of more than 150 research and clinical articles, books, book chapters and abstracts.

Terry Carney (LL.B.(Hons), Dip. Crim. (Melb), Ph.D.(Mon)) is Professor of Law and immediate past Director of Research at the University of Sydney.  A past President (2005-2007) of the International Academy of Law and Mental Health, he chaired Commonwealth bodies such as the National Advisory Council on Social Welfare and of the Board of the Institute of Family Studies, along with various State enquiries on child welfare, adult guardianship and health law.

Krista Brown (B.A.) worked as the research coordinator in the Eating Disorders Program at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia from 2001-2008 where she conducted intake assessments focused on addressing readiness for change and facilitated psychoeducational groups. Krista is currently a graduate student in the Clinical Studies program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
