Referral Information:
2 beds in an acute psychiatric unit for people with severe anorexia nervosa or bulimia nervosa who have already accessed local Area primary, secondary & tertiary services. Available to adults from any AHS in NSW.
Referrals will only be accepted from GPs/other medical professional along with results of blood tests. GPs to complete the Referral Form located below.
Due to lengthy waiting lists for inpatient admission, all patients will be assessed and managed through the outpatient clinic.
If the patient is medically compromised, they need to be directed to the Emergency Department of their local hospital. RPAH multidisciplinary team can offer consultation to treating hospitals/GPs via telemedicine conferencing.
GPs who are concerned about a particular patient can ring 9515 8165 and speak to either Prof Janice Russell or the Eating Disorders Registrar for a brief consultation on patient management.
